How it all started

The idea for AllaraCare began when Dr. Mark Allara started questioning his own relationship to what he saw as a very broken healthcare system:

  • The employees at his practice regularly complained about their health benefit (even though they had a plan that was supposedly one of the best)
  • As a primary care physician, he was expected to rush through a non-stop calendar of daily visits
  • And, finally, "the last straw" occurred when Dr. Allara's wife attempted to fill a routine prescription...

Mark Allara, MD

Mark Allara, MD

Visionary & Founder

Dr. Mark Allara has been practicing family medicine for more than 20 years and is passionate about transforming the healthcare status quo. The multi-disciplinary practice he has grown in Middleton, MA has become a model for other organizations looking to remain independent. He attended Yale University and the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, and completed his family medicine residency at Beverly Hospital. He is a member of American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and is an associate professor of family medicine at Tufts Medical School. 

John Donlan

John Donlan

CEO & Co-Founder

An accomplished healthcare executive and strategist, John Donlan has a proven track record leading national growth strategies for Value-Based Care Organizations, Population Health improvement, and ACO Provider Network Performance Operations. He most recently served as the President of Steward Health Care Network, positioning the organization as one of the first Pioneer ACOs under the Obama Administration's Pioneer ACO. He holds an honors degree from Notre Dame, and a Master's in Business Management from the University of Maryland, European Division. John began his career as a Medical Platoon Leader in the U.S. Army's 1st Armored Division, followed by a Captaincy at NATO Headquarters in Belgium. Before Steward, he served as the lead of the VBC contracting division at Tufts Health Plan. He is designated as a Certified Health Insurance Executive by the America's Health Insurance Plans Association and also serves as an adjunct faculty member in the Carroll School of Management MBA program at Boston College.

Steve Wilde

VP, Operations

Steve currently leads day-to-day operations at AllaraCare. He joins the team from Healthy Price where he serves as Chief Executive Officer. Steve had previously spent the past decade working in analytics leadership roles for various health insurance and health system organizations. His passion is transparency and fair prices for patients. Steve’s educational background includes a bachelors degree in Economics and MBA from Bentley University.

Diana Giorlando

Director, Marketing

A marketing professional with over 20 years experience, Diana oversees the development and execution of AllaraCare's strategic marketing and business development initiatives. She brings a passion for visual communication and problem-solving to the AllaraCare team and has helped companies elevate their brand presence across a wide range of industries including healthcare, technology, consumer loyalty programs, higher education, and non-profit.

Jude Fox

Manager, Client & Member Experience

Jude joins AllaraCare in the newly created role of Program Manager, bringing nearly two decades of experience and advocacy in customer success, project management and content development, with a long-held passion for building awareness and education with meaningful impact. In close collaboration with the AllaraCare team, she'll lead our implementation initiatives to truly deliver a best-in-class solution supporting healthcare transparency.

For over a decade, Ryan has been a customer experience and operations professional, most recently working in the healthtech sector. With a proven track record of ensuring client success through long-term relationship building, demonstrating consumer value of products/services, and providing high-level customer service support while driving cross-functional initiatives, Ryan, as our Member Services Manager, will ensure that all AllaraCare members have an exceptional experience by streamlining workflows between them and our trusted organizational partners.
